National Association of Career Colleges (NACC)

Ottawa

Help us create great experiences for members across Canada.

The National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) is looking for an organized, relationship-focused Manager, Membership Engagement & Events to help bring our member programming, events and engagement activities to life.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves making things happen.

You might be coordinating speakers and registrations for a national webinar one week, working with a provincial association on an upcoming event the next, and then turning your attention to the dozens of moving pieces behind a national conference. Along the way, you'll build relationships with career colleges across Canada, help members connect with NACC's work, and make sure the details that create a great member experience are taken care of.

You'll work closely with NACC's Director of Advocacy and Manager, Strategic Communications as part of a small, collaborative national team.

What You’ll Do

Deliver member programs and engagement

You'll help turn NACC's membership priorities into well-executed programs and experiences. You'll:

- Build strong relationships with NACC member colleges and serve as a responsive, helpful point of contact.
- Coordinate and deliver member engagement activities throughout the year.
- Gather member feedback, questions, success stories and emerging issues and share what you're hearing with the NACC team.
- Track participation and engagement across programs and activities and help us understand what's resonating with members.
- Support outreach to prospective and renewing members as required.

Make our events happen

Events are a major part of this role. You'll take ownership of the planning and execution that turns an event from an idea into a great experience for members.

You'll:

- Lead the planning and delivery of NACC's national conferences, coordinating programming, speakers, registration, logistics, vendors, partners and member participation.
- Work with provincial career college associations to coordinate NACC's participation in conferences, meetings and events across Canada.
- Coordinate member meetings, roundtables and other engagement opportunities.
- Work closely with the Manager, Strategic Communications on event promotion, branding and communications.
- Travel within Canada to support NACC events and member activities.

Keep our webinars and programming running smoothly

NACC delivers webinars and virtual programming throughout the year, including our Leading Forward series. You'll coordinate the details from beginning to end, including:

- Setting up registration and virtual event platforms.
- Coordinating speakers, schedules, materials and participant communications.
- Publishing and promoting programming through NACC's member channels.
- Monitoring registration and participation.
- Supporting live delivery and troubleshooting.
- Coordinating recordings, resources and post-event follow-up.
- Tracking results and member feedback to help improve future programming.

Connect members with NACC's advocacy and communications

NACC exists to represent and advocate for Canada's regulated career college sector. You'll help make sure members are connected to that work by:

- Supporting member participation in consultations, campaigns, government engagement and other advocacy activities.
- Identifying member, student, graduate and employer stories that can strengthen NACC's communications and advocacy.
- Helping communicate important policy and government developments to members.
- Collaborating with the Manager, Strategic Communications on newsletters, member updates, social media and event promotion.
- Using tools such as Canva, Constant Contact and Buffer to support polished, timely member communications.

Who we're looking for

We're less interested in finding someone who has held this exact title before than we are in finding someone who is organized, resourceful, great with people and exceptionally good at execution.

You may be a great fit if you:

- Have 3+ years of experience in membership engagement, association management, events, stakeholder relations, program coordination or a related field.
- Have planned and delivered conferences, events, webinars or professional programming.
- Are the kind of person who keeps track of the details, follows through and notices what still needs to happen.
- Can manage several projects,

deadlines and stakeholders without losing sight of the member experience.
- Communicate clearly and professionally and genuinely enjoy building relationships.
- Are comfortable taking ownership of a project and moving it forward independently while collaborating closely with others.
- Are comfortable learning and working across digital tools. Experience with platforms such as Canva, Constant Contact, Buffer, Microsoft Office and virtual event or registration platforms is an asset.
- Have a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, including a regulated career college.
- Are able and willing to travel within Canada for conferences and other member-facing activities.

Experience in an association, post-secondary education, workforce development or another member-based organization would be particularly valuable.

Additional assets include:

- Bilingualism in English and French.
- Experience working with provincial or national associations.
- Experience supporting advocacy, government relations or stakeholder engagement.
- Experience coordinating large conferences or complex, multi-stakeholder events.

Why join NACC?

NACC represents regulated career colleges across Canada and works with governments, provincial associations, members, employers and sector partners to advance high-quality career education and workforce development.

We're a small national team, which means you'll have the chance to work across a wide range of projects and see the impact of your work directly. In this role, you'll have:

- A central role in delivering NACC's national conferences, member programming and engagement activities.
- The opportunity to build relationships with career colleges and partners across Canada.
- Exposure to national advocacy, post-secondary education and workforce development issues.
- A collaborative environment where good ideas, initiative and continuous improvement are valued.
- Competitive compensation and benefits.
- A flexible hybrid work arrangement, with approximately 2-3 days per week in our downtown Ottawa office.

This is a full-time, 18-month contract position based in Ottawa, with travel within Canada required.

Interested? We'd love to hear from you. Please submit your résumé and a brief cover letter to telling us about your experience and what interests you about the role.
