BCIT requires individuals to fill temporary, part-time Teaching Assistant positions for delivery of Flexible Learning courses on a term-by-term basis in our Interior Design, Adaptable Learning Programs. We invite individuals to view the Interior Design web pages to view program and course information. https://www.Bcit.Ca/programs/interior-design/ BCIT Flexible Learning runs three terms in twelve week blocks: September to December, January to March, and April to June, as well as a summer term from July to August.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAttend all classes (online or in classroom)Demonstrates cooperation with the course instructor inside and outside of the classroom.Assist in evaluation of student performance, including marking exams, quizzes and assignments (during and between classes)Meet with course instructor as required to determine marking criteriaQualificationsRelevant diploma or degree in Interior DesignMinimum three years of related current experience,
with practical knowledge and experience in the residential ( kitchen & Bath) design field.NKBA membership eligibility and Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer ( AKBA ) Certification an asset.Hands on experience with Chief Architect would be an asset.Hands-on AutoCad experience would be an asset.Hands-on experience with Photoshop, Indesign and Sketchup would be an assetExcellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work within, and develop, a collegial environmentPrevious teaching, mentoring or informal training experience would be an asset..Please Note: Teaching assistance are paid 3 hours per week per course.
