Female Personal Assistant - Social Care NK/AW - 26 (GCIL North Lanarkshire)
Nicole lives in Airdrie and is a happy, affectionate and friendly young woman with a lovely, playful personality. She is looking for a warm and dependable female Personal Assistant to help her enjoy an active life beyond her home. This is a rewarding opportunity to get to know Nicole as an individual, build a trusting relationship and make a genuine difference by sharing positive experiences together.
Day to day, Nicole enjoys a mix of familiar favourites and new adventures. She loves animals and visits to animal parks, as well as swimming, cinema trips, meals out, walks, car journeys and discovering different places. At home, she enjoys watching favourite characters and videos on her iPad and listening to music, especially when someone takes an interest and shares the experience with her.
Nicole has autism and is non-verbal, so the role involves providing one-to-one support, planning enjoyable activities and outings with her, and helping her access the community safely and confidently. You will support her communication by taking time to notice, understand and respond to the ways she expresses herself, whilst offering assistance with everyday activities and personal care as needed. The focus is on helping Nicole make choices, enjoy varied experiences and remain at the centre of her own support.
A great match for Nicole will be patient, empathetic, kind and reliable, with a positive outlook and a genuine interest in getting to know her. You will be energetic, creative and proactive enough to suggest and organise fun activities, while also being attentive and willing to engage with the things Nicole enjoys. Experience of supporting someone with additional support needs or providing personal care would be helpful, but warmth, enthusiasm and the ability to build trust are just as key.
The role is based in the Airdrie area,
with working days and hours to be agreed with the employer. As getting out and about is central to the role, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own car. This position is for a female PA because of the nature of the personal support involved; any role‑specific training will be provided. The ideal candidate must have a current PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme member, or willing to join the scheme
Hours: Up to 12 hours per week.
Days and Times: Thursdays and Fridays, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Some flexibility is required; for example, the hours may occasionally be worked on Thursday and Sunday instead. Rate of pay: £14.00 per hour.
If you are successfully hired; you will be employed directly by a Private Employer on a PAYE basis and will be entitled to all statutory rights as set out by Employment Law, such as paid holidays and statutory sick pay (where eligible).
