Location:

The Ontario Crops Research Centre – Bradford is located in the Bradford/Holland Marsh area (Highways 9 & 400). This is approx. 1.25 hrs north‑east of Guelph. Applicants should be willing to relocate to within commuting distance of the research station.

Objective:

To provide students with skills and experience in field research and vegetable crop production through participation in horticultural research projects including the evaluation of recent production methods, crop protection methods (including biological and chemical controls), and cultivar evaluation.

Qualifications:

A genuine interest in horticultural crop production is desirable. Courses taken at university or college level in plant biology and related subjects would be preferred. Must enjoy working as part of a team. Knowledge of farming methods and work experience of a physical nature would be an asset.



An unrestricted (full G) Ontario Driver's license is an asset, but not necessary.

Job Description:

As part of the farm crew you will assist the agricultural technicians in many aspects of vegetable production and in research activities including plot layout, seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, evaluation of research samples, and data analysis.

Dates:

May 4 to September 4, 2026

Wages:

40‑hour week with pay based on the summer student wage rate for the Dept of Plant Agriculture.
