Student Transportation of Canada (STC) is looking for a skilled Mobile Mechanic who thrives on variety, independence, and loves to travel. Based out of Sudbury, you’ll be hitting the road in a company‑provided service truck, bringing maintenance support to any of our shop locations throughout the province.
The Mobile Mechanic is responsible for the preventative maintenance and day‑to‑day repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles across our family of companies. Your role includes diagnosing and performing all repairs and ensuring our vehicles meet exacting safety standards. You will provide excellent internal customer service while interacting with various stakeholders including, School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics, Apprentices and Governmental Agencies.

Job Duties
Travel throughout Ontario to support maintenance where needed
Perform Brake and Safety Inspections,
carry out preventative maintenance
Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month
Perform service calls and cold starts as required
Ensure you have knowledge of our safety policies and adhere to them
Adhere to all relevant regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Local perspective
Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace
Support and provide training at various Company shop locations
Qualifications
Strong mechanical experience (310T License)
Valid driver’s license
Possess a explicit driver’s abstract and safe driving record
Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial, and Federal safety provisions
Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices within the School Bus industry an asset
Ability to work in a team‑based, collaborative work environment
