High School English Teacher / Tutor

Position Requirements

- Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
- Available for a minimum of 2 evenings per week
- Commitment through the end of the school year (June 30th), with possibility of continuing through the summer
- In‑person instruction; remote teaching is not supported
- Ability to commute to the designated location – relocation packages are not available
- Mandatory vulnerable‑sector screening

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grade 9 to Grade 12 curriculum

Experience

- Some experience teaching or tutoring at Grade 9 to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and work with up to three students at a time
- Ability to teach French is highly desired

Responsibilities





- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels, both online and in‑person
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and skilled manner at all times

Schedule

- Monday to Friday evenings
- Saturday availability
