High School Math & Science Teacher – Oxford Learning Ocean Park

Part‑time teaching position in a supplemental education centre located in Surrey, British Columbia. Pay: $18—to $20 per hour.

Position Requirements

All teacher‑tutors work primarily during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm‑7:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am‑3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. The role is in‑person and requires a local commute. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or a similar qualification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including but not limited to Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus, and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Experience

- Some experience teaching or tutoring math at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding.




- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Deliver instruction in person (online instructions are not applicable in this role).
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and qualified manner at all times.
