Family Cook Household Support Coordinator Full-Time Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central/Southwest Calgary 25/hour during six-month probation; 30/hour after successful probation 40 guaranteed paid hours per week We are a busy Calgary family with four boys, ages 9, 12, 14, and 16, seeking an exceptional person to become a long-term part of our household. This is not a traditional nanny role. Our children are independent and do not need full-time childcare. We need a proactive, reliable household professional whose strengths include excellent home cooking, housekeeping, laundry, groceries, organization, and family support. Cooking is the priority

We are looking for a genuinely strong, experienced home cook. Professional culinary experience is not required; we care most about excellent family meals made with fresh ingredients. Our family enjoys Mexican, Italian, meat-and-potatoes-style meals, fresh produce, and healthy, hearty food prepared primarily from scratch. Responsibilities

Grocery shopping, often daily, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients Preparing dinner Monday–Friday, generally ready at 5:00 PM Cooking for six people, and occasionally eight to ten guests Preparing school lunches, easy breakfast options, fresh fruit, vegetables, and healthy snacks Learning the preferences of four growing boys and introducing new meals Keeping the refrigerator and pantry clean, organized, and well stocked Minimizing food waste and planning ahead for absences Cleaning as you cook and leaving the kitchen tidy Baking is a strong asset Housekeeping, Laundry Organization

This is a full-housekeeping role, including general daily cleaning and rotating deeper-cleaning tasks. You will care for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, the finished basement, floors, dusting, tidying, bedding, towels, and household linens. Laundry includes washing, drying, folding, and putting away household laundry, bedding, towels, and the boys’ clothing. Delicate-garment care will be introduced gradually as trust is established. We also need someone who notices what the household needs before being asked. This includes stocking household supplies, organizing closets, pantry and fridge areas, monitoring clothing and shoe sizes, managing seasonal clothing, keeping sports gear organized, and completing normal household errands. Errands may include grocery stores, Costco,

pharmacy pickups, returns, package drop-offs, household purchases, and occasional school pickups. You must use your own reliable, properly insured vehicle. The family covers work-related fuel and approved purchases; receipts are required. Kids Pets

The boys are independent. You may occasionally assist with school pickup, transportation, or basic logistics, but you are not expected to discipline them. Please bring recurring issues to the parents. We have two dogs and a cat. Light pet duties may include litter-box cleaning, food and water, and backyard cleanup. Dog walking is generally handled by the family unless we are travelling. Personality Fit

Our household is busy, loud, and sometimes chaotic. We are looking for someone who is: Reliable, punctual, hardworking, warm, and outgoing Organized, proactive, flexible, and trustworthy Comfortable working independently in a busy household with teenagers A strong communicator who takes feedback well Physically able to manage stairs, groceries, laundry baskets, and active cleaning A genuinely excellent home cook with a good sense of humour We value initiative and communication. If you see a worthwhile task outside the normal routine, let us know what you intend to do so we can confirm priorities. Good situational awareness is important: sometimes the best support is being present, while at other times errands or off-site tasks give the family needed space. Schedule, Pay Benefits

Normal hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. All eight hours, including normal breaks, are paid. You are guaranteed 40 paid hours weekly, even during lighter weeks. First six months: 25/hour After successful probation: 30/hour Four weeks’ paid vacation annually, accruing from the start date Vacation is generally not available November 1–March 31; unused vacation does not carry forward One additional paid vacation day per completed year of employment, with no cap Advantages package after probation,

based on long-term fit Annual compensation review Five paid sick/personal days annually from day one Statutory holidays off Overtime paid at 1.5 times after 40 hours in a week under our employment policy Potential discretionary year-end bonus Weekends are normally off. When you are not working, you are not expected to remain available. Occasional Live-In Support

When both parents travel, you may occasionally be asked to stay in the home for several days or longer. A private bedroom and bathroom will be provided. Normal hourly wages continue for working hours, with a separate daily live-in payment agreed upon in advance. During these periods, you will be the responsible adult in the home, handling meals, pets, transportation, and ordinary household logistics. You are not expected to replace the parents except where an immediate safety issue requires action. Requirements

You must have fluent English; a valid driver’s licence; a reliable, insured personal vehicle; a satisfactory driving abstract; confidence driving in Calgary winter conditions; and the ability to pass a criminal record check before permanent employment. You must be a non-smoker and non-vaper. Comfort with shared calendars, grocery lists, and simple task apps is expected. First Aid/CPR, Spanish, a valid passport, and willingness to occasionally travel with the family are assets but not required. Legal authorization to work in Canada is preferred; sponsorship may be considered for an exceptional candidate. Paid Trial Long-Term Opportunity

Serious candidates must complete a paid two- to five-day trial at 25/hour before a permanent offer. The family covers approved grocery, fuel, and household expenses. The trial allows both sides to assess fit, work style, cooking ability, and household chemistry. We seek a long-term employee, potentially for 10 years or more as our children move through high school and university. Mature, experienced applicants and candidates with significant life experience are encouraged to apply. Formal nanny or professional cooking experience is not required. Personality, work ethic, reliability, and fit matter more than a perfect résumé. The start date is flexible, with the goal of filling the position before the end of 2026.
