About the Role We are seeking an experienced

Financial Analyst

to provide hands-on accounting, financial analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and financial controls support within a complex organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel capabilities, experience with ERP systems, and the ability to independently manage financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting activities, and audit-related requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Perform financial analysis, account reconciliations, and journal entry activities.

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including month-end and year-end processes.

Review and validate financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, discrepancies, and potential risks.

Investigate and resolve accounting and financial system issues.

Support accounts receivable, revenue, payroll-related transactions, and inter-unit accounting activities.

Prepare documentation, reconciliations, and working papers for internal and external audits.

Apply accounting principles, financial controls, and applicable accounting standards.

Develop and maintain financial procedures, documentation, reporting tools, and process improvements.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Work with business stakeholders to gather and analyze financial information.

Support financial system enhancements, data migration, data conversion, and ERP-related initiatives.

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

15+ years





of experience applying accounting principles and accounting standards.

15+ years

of advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including

PivotTables, VLOOKUP , and similar functions.

14+ years

of experience performing financial reporting and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements.

14+ years

of experience performing data analysis, including profiling, validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and analysis of complex datasets.

14+ years

of experience working with

ERP systems such as SAP .

13+ years

of experience working with accounting systems, including processes, budgets, and internal controls.

14+ years

of experience accurately calculating, posting, correcting, and managing accounting figures and financial records.

Relevant post-secondary education in

Business Administration, Accounting, Finance , or a related field.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business stakeholders.

The provided skill matrix also identifies

SharePoint Online

experience and experience applying financial audit, controls, reconciliation, or financial systems governance principles to

large-scale data migration, data conversion, or ERP implementation projects

as important qualifications.

Preferred Skills

Experience with

SAP

or other enterprise ERP platforms.





Experience supporting financial audits and implementing financial controls.

Experience with large-scale

ERP implementations, data migration, or data conversion .

Experience with

SharePoint Online , including collaborative spreadsheets.

Experience developing and improving financial processes and internal controls.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting systems, and financial governance.

Work Arrangement

Primarily

remote within Alberta .

Candidates should be located within approximately

3 hours' driving distance

of the designated work location.

Occasional onsite attendance may be required for meetings or work sessions with reasonable notice.

Any required onsite meetings will generally be within the candidate's Alberta travel range.
