Learn more about us on our website atAbout Working in Remote CampsOur camps are located in remote areas and staff live on-site on scheduled shifts and leave camp on scheduled breaks.Most of our LandSea camps offer individual staff accommodation, ensuite or shared bathroom, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities for staff.Camp staff work long hours and multiple days in a row. A typical workday is between 10-12 hours (day or night shift) and overtime rates apply.Health and Safety and a Respectful Workplace are essential for everyone working together at LandSea. Our camps are drug and alcohol-free workplaces and require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.The Relief Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen operations, and ensuring a consistent and safe food setting.About the Job, Benefits and PerksTemporary position: September 3 to October 8, 2026$24.62 to $27.70 per hour Overtime paySchedule: 10-hour or 12-hour shifts depending on operational needsInbound and Outbound travel paid for by Landsea for all Chef positionsHealth and Wellness Benefits program available for full-time staffMeals and accommodation while working on sitePartial uniform is providedCamp LocationThis camp is remote and located approximately 1 hour Northeast of Prince George, BC.
Our team organizes all logistics and travel for employees to get to and from camp.#ACAN100Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standardsPlan menus and contribute new dishes or seasonal featuresOversee food preparation and kitchen staff (if applicable)Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchenEnsure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulationsSupervise, train and mentor kitchen staffManage inventory, food costs, and ordering suppliesMaintain food costs at acceptable levels, ensure portion control, including maximum utilization of employees and equipmentEnsure daily communication with employees and management including conducting daily Toolbox TalksEnsure guests/clients at site receive superior customer serviceAdhere to all safety practices, procedures and guidelinesThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Qualifications5+ years Chef experience preferably in remote camp or hotel/hospitality industriesJourneyman or Red Seal Certification in the Cook trade or equivalent is mandatoryValid WHMIS and Food Safe Advanced and First Aid Certifications are mandatoryStrong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standardsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentLeadership and team management skillsPre-employment RequirementsConfirmation of all required valid certificationsLandSea and site-specific Orientation and Health and Safety trainingDrug and Alcohol ClearanceCriminal Background Check ClearanceHealth QuestionnaireValid Government Issued ID for travel (if required)About LandseaLandSea Camp and Catering Services is proud to be part of the Aramark Canada family, a global leader in hospitality and support services.
