Overview

Mechanical Design Assistant (4 month Fall Term) – Antec Controls, a division of Price Industries. Antec Controls is a leader in environmental monitoring and control for critical spaces such as operating rooms, isolation rooms, and laboratories. Our range of products includes electronic controllers, touchscreen interfaces, sensors, air valves and many other supporting products. Our controllers are highly configurable, allowing for optimization of room and fume hood control.

The successful candidate will be expected to learn and create expertise within the role while remaining open to cross-training within our fast-growing business.

Responsibilities

- Supporting product designers in each stage of the design process
- Assembling prototypes and setting up test spaces
- Performing and documenting testing both benchtop and in mock-up test spaces
- Analyzing and interpreting testing results
- Supporting the creation of design documentation
- Providing design support for manufacturing

Qualifications

- Enrolled in post-secondary education for Mechanical Engineering or Technologist or equivalent
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with an eye for detail




- A cooperative team player attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- An aptitude and willingness to learn recent skills
- A high level of critical thinking and accountability
- Experience with hand tools and wiring considered an asset
