French Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic French speaker to join Oxford Learning Markham Boxgrove as a part‑time French teacher/tutor/coach. Ignite your passion for helping students succeed – in French!

Salary: $17.60 per hour

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time across different levels (Grades 9–12)
- Conduct lessons in French using the provided curriculum; no lesson planning required
- Guide students through material and encourage discussion of their understanding
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Grades 9–12 French core curriculum

Experience

- Experience teaching or tutoring French at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English




- Strong French language skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and manage up to three students simultaneously

Schedule

After‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 7:00 pm), with some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). Commitment through the end of the term in June is preferred; summer continuation is even better.

- Must be able to work in‑person at the Markham location and have a short commute
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory; relocation packages are not available
