Part‑Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor
Passionate about literature, excited to help elementary students succeed in all subjects, and comfortable teaching language and social studies? Oxford Learning Oakville South is looking for part‑time teacher‑tutors for our after‑school learning centre.
Position Requirements
Work during after‑school and evening hours Monday‑Thursday (3:00 pm–8:00 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am–1:00 pm). Commitment until the end of the term (June) is preferred; summer continuation is even better. This is an in‑person role; candidates must be able to commute to this location. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 8 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Conduct lessons both online and in‑person
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post‑lesson notesComplete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Details

Salary: $18 – $20 per hour
