As our Director of Care (DOC), you'll provide clinical and operational leadership for nursing and personal care services – ensuring care is safe, high-quality, and grounded in residents' needs and preferences. If you're a compassionate clinical leader who thrives on strengthening systems and developing people, this role offers the chance to make a direct, lasting impact every day.What You'll Be Responsible ForIn this role, you will:Provide overall leadership and oversight for nursing and personal care servicesEnsure care is delivered safely, consistently, and in alignment with resident-centred standardsMaintain compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) requirements, and applicable directivesSupport accreditation readiness and standards, including Accreditation Canada requirementsChampion resident- and family-centred care and quality of life initiativesLead implementation of clinical components of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), ensuring practice-level changes are embedded within nursing and care teamsSupport Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) practices and outbreak preparednessRecruit, develop, and mentor nursing leadership and frontline staff; support performance andprofessional practice expectationsPromote effective interdisciplinary practice with medical staff and other departments to support care planning and resident outcomesContribute to operational planning, budgeting,
and strategic initiatives to support sustainable service deliveryWho You'll Work WithYou will report to the Executive Director and serve as a key member of the Home Leadership Team, providing clinical leadership for nursing and personal care services. You'll work in close partnership with the Director of Quality and Risk on clinical quality and safety priorities and maintain strong relationships with medical staff and interdisciplinary leaders to support resident outcomes and inspection readiness.What You BringWe're looking for someone who brings clinical expertise, leadership, and heart. You'll thrive in this role if you have:Registered Nurse in positive standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)Must have a minimum of one year of experience working as an RN in a Long-Term CareMust have a minimum 3 years of progressive leadership and managerial experience in a healthcare setting (long-term care preferred)Strong knowledge of Ontario long-term care legislation, inspection processes, and best practicesExperience with quality improvement, resident safety, and Accreditation Canada standardsDemonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and build staff capabilityExcellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skillsMaster's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Leadership, or related field (preferred)Additional training in quality, safety, IPAC, or healthcare leadershipThank you for your interest in joining peopleCare!We are excited to learn more about you and the experience you would bring to our team. peopleCare is committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process.
