About the Opportunity
As a Part-Time Social Media Content Creator, you will serve as a visual storyteller for Pocketride across
Sarnia-Lambton. You will be responsible for planning, filming, and editing engaging short-form vertical
videos designed for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
Every video deliverable you produce will help strengthen Pocketride’s presence across digital channels,
engage local communities, and support our brand growth.
Your Mission
Shoot, edit, and deliver one high-quality, mobile-optimized vertical video per week that engages our
online audience, reflects company brand standards, and highlights Pocketride’s impact across the local
community.
Your Responsibilities
Content Creation & Production
- Concept, shoot, and edit one (1) high-quality, short-form video per week (totalling four
approved videos per calendar month).
- Deliver all finished assets in mobile-optimized 9:16 vertical video ratios suitable for Instagram
Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Ensure all video deliverables align with Pocketride’s brand guidelines, tone, and visual
standards.
Storytelling & Marketing Support
- Highlight platform features, local community impact, and user experiences through creative
visual media.
- Adapt video styles, pacing, and visual elements to align with emerging social media trends.
- Submit completed Work Product and raw video assets to the Marketing team for approval.
Administration & Workflow
- Manage personal production schedules to meet weekly video submission deadlines.
- Track and submit monthly expense summaries along with itemized receipts for food or fuel
expenses incurred during production.
- Participate in periodic check-ins and strategy reviews with the Vice President of Marketing and
leadership team.
- Service Fee: Flat rate of $30.00 CAD per approved video deliverable.
- Payment Cycle: Bi-weekly payment issued within 10 business days following each two-week
cycle (typically $60.00 CAD for two completed, approved videos).
- Expense Reimbursement: Up to $30.00 CAD per calendar month for out-of-pocket food or fuel
expenses incurred during content creation (reimbursed upon submission of valid itemized
receipts).
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an imaginative content creator based in or near Sarnia who loves producing digital
content and bringing brand stories to life through video.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a strong passion for visual storytelling, video editing, and short-form content trends.
- Be self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of managing production schedules independently.
- Possess strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Thrive within a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating short-form vertical video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube
Shorts.
- Proficiency with mobile or desktop video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci
Resolve).
- Background or education in Media, Marketing, Communications, Film Production, or Digital
Design is considered an asset.
- Based in Sarnia, Ontario, or able to reliably travel locally for filming field content.
- Access to reliable video capture equipment (a modern smartphone with high-definition video
capabilities is fully sufficient).
