Job Description

Details

- Flexible dynamic role covering kitchen/dining room and housekeeping positions across various Edmonton locations.
- Pay Scale: $19.05 to $23.10 per hour.
- Location: GEF locations throughout Edmonton (travel between sites may be required, mileage paid).
- Schedule: No regular shifts for casual employees; variety of shifts based on organizational needs.
- Availability: Open and flexible availability required.

Typical Duties

- Kitchen: food preparation, portioning, labeling, cooking, baking, cleaning kitchen areas, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads, snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables.
- Dining Room: greet residents, serve meals and beverages, set and clear tables, assist residents at buffet, perform meal attendance checks.
- Housekeeping:



clean common areas, dining and kitchen areas, disinfect, floor care, laundry, restock supplies, address resident issues and emergencies, unscheduled unit cleaning, cover front desk as needed.
- Respond to emergencies as required.

Experience and Education Preferences

- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience in food preparation, serving meals, baking, or cooking – an asset.
- Training available.
- Experience as a server in dining room and commercial housekeeping preferred.

Other Requirements

- Strong customer service skills, respectful interaction with all.
- Ability to read and follow standard recipes and work sanitarily.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with positive people focus.
- Responsible judgement in problem solving.
