In this casual position, you will engage with those experiencing homelessness, offering transport to emergency shelter and distributing necessary resources. Following harm reduction principles, your role emphasizes dignity, self-worth, and independence among clients while monitoring their safety and health. Your compassionate outreach contributes to a supportive community for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet immediate community needs with food and hygiene items
• Drive MSP’s outreach vans and provide transportation
• Monitor client safety, documenting incidents as needed
• Engage with individuals in encampments for support
• Ensure clients are aware of available services and resources
Requirements:
• Experience in human services, particularly outreach services
• Understanding of harm reduction and housing-first philosophies
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Proficient communication and interpersonal skills
