The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Charge Nurse for our 11-bed secure Cognitive Behavioral Unit. This unit specializes in the assessment and treatment of older adults experiencing complex symptoms of dementia and unstable medical conditions. As a leader in our collaborative care model, you will facilitate evidence-based rehabilitation plans alongside an inter-professional team, patients, and their families. This role requires a balance of clinical leadership, psychosocial expertise, and a hands‐on approach to patient care. As the Charge Nurse, you will be overseeing daily operations, providing guidance to the care team, leading rapid rounds, team conferences and leading de‐escalation efforts during behavioral emergencies using NVCI (Non‐Violent Crisis Intervention) techniques. The Charge Nurse is also required to take a patient assignment and to actively participate in all aspects of daily living support, including feeding, hygiene, and mobility. This position requires extensive physical care, continuous standing and walking.Description:As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability.
