Make a vital difference as a Community Nurse with BC Public Service in Surrey, BC. This hybrid role focuses on mental health services for adolescents facing legal challenges, providing direct care and support.
As a Community Nurse within the Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services team, you'll play a crucial role in helping young individuals navigate their mental health issues. You'll act as a primary nursing therapist, co-therapist, or case manager, engaging in counseling, treatment, and consultations.
Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, you'll directly impact adolescent well-being while managing complex clinical cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide essential counseling and treatment for youth
Prepare detailed reports on assessments and treatments
Coordinate care within a team-oriented team workplace
Engage with probation services and community agencies
Exercise clinical independence to address complex issues
Requirements:
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
Minimum of three years of psychiatric nursing experience
Licensed with the BCCNM to practice in BC
Experience with adolescents in forensic or community settings preferred
Must complete a criminal record check
