Key Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you may do jobs such as:

- Delivering tailored learning activities to pupils in small groups or one‑to‑one
- Ensuring pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons and activities
- Listening to pupils read and reading with them individually, in groups, or as a class




- Supporting pupils' social and emotional development, reporting concerns to the teacher as needed
- Assisting the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and encouraging positive conduct
- Helping to plan and prepare lesson activities and classroom materials
- Monitoring pupil progress and guiding learning where appropriate
- Providing regular feedback to teachers on pupil development
- Supporting with extracurricular activities such as breakfast/afterschool clubs, and lunchtime duties
- Carrying out general classroom administration and resource preparation
