PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary duties and responsibilities assigned to this position are as follows:
Identifies various (scrap) metal pieces
Picks and sorts various metals/materials accordingly
Ensures the quality of the metals/materials being sorted and picked
Shovels work area and cleans equipment as often as required
Recognizes operational issues and reports them to the manager
Operates equipment (when required) while adhering to all safe work practices and procedures
Works in accordance with all company health & safety guidelines




Assists in other areas of the business as the need arises
Other duties as assigned by the manager

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Previous experience in a scrapyard, manufacturing or construction-like setting is considered an asset
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (working at elevated heights, working in all weather conditions, standing for long periods of time, lifting of up to 50lbs)
Reliability and a strong attendance record
