Rushton Gas & Oil Equipment Ltd. is looking for an experienced Structural Welder to join our fabrication team. We are an oilfield manufacturing company specializing in skid-mounted oil and gas processing equipment for the Western Canadian market.
The successful candidate will primarily fabricate and weld structural steel skids and equipment supports. Relevant structural welding and fabrication experience is required.
This position is best suited to an experienced structural welder who is comfortable performing heavy industrial fabrication work. Applicants without relevant structural welding experience will not be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fabricate, fit, and weld structural steel skids and equipment supports
Perform FCAW and SMAW welding in multiple positions
Read and accurately interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and welding procedure specifications
Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components
Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment
Safely operate overhead cranes and other shop equipment
Maintain weld quality and dimensional accuracy
Follow company safety procedures and quality requirements
Maintain a professional and respectful attitude
Work independently and as part of a fabrication team
Requirements
Previous structural welding and fabrication experience is required
Proficiency with both FCAW and SMAW welding processes
Experience building industrial or oilfield equipment skids is strongly preferred
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints accurately
Solid fitting, layout, and measuring skills
Ability to produce clean, consistent welds that meet applicable requirements
Current CWB welding certification is considered an asset but is not required; qualified candidates must be capable of obtaining the required CWB certification
Ability to safely operate an overhead crane
Dependable, organized, and capable of working with minimal supervision
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with structural fabrication
Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
