CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

THE ROLE

Our client is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join their Winnipeg team. This position will support a variety of civil, commercial, industrial and general contracting projects .

The Estimator will review drawings and tender documents, complete takeoffs, develop project costs and prepare competitive bids while working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers and Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Review drawings, specifications and tender documents
Complete detailed quantity takeoffs
Prepare labour, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing
Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes
Prepare competitive bids and tender submissions
Identify scope gaps, risks and potential cost savings
Analyze construction methods, sequencing and project requirements
Work with Project Managers and Operations on project execution strategies
Maintain estimating records and historical cost information
Participate in tender reviews and bid closings




Assist with project handover following successful bids

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
3+ years of construction estimating experience
Experience with civil, heavy civil, infrastructure or general contracting
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and sequencing
Ability to read architectural, structural and civil drawings
Strong quantity takeoff and costing experience
Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers
Solid Excel skills
Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or estimating software experience is an asset
HeavyBid or similar civil estimating software is an asset
Construction or Civil Engineering Technology education is an asset
