Job Summary

Position: Home Child Care Provider (Permanent)

Location: Mississauga, ON

Employment type: Full time (30 to 40 hours per week)

Work hours: 30 to 40 hours per week

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Work setting: Employer’s home, on site only

Work site environment: Non-smoking, scent free

Optional accommodation: Available at no charge on a live-in basis (not a condition of employment)

Public transportation: Available

Responsibilities

- Supervise and care for children of multiple ages
- Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Bathe, dress, and feed children
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Organize activities such as games and outings for children
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
- Prepare children for rest periods
- Tend to the emotional well‑being of children

Job Requirements

- Education: Secondary (high school)



graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Languages: English (required)
- Experience: Previous experience is an asset
- Target audience: Ability to supervise and care for a multi‑aged group of children
- Security and safety: Successful criminal record check
- Weight handling: Able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
- Personal suitability: Client focus, flexibility, judgement, reliability, time management, patience, honesty
- Travel: Must be able to travel to the work location (public transportation available)

Eligibility

You must be authorized to work in Canada.
