Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to a woman after stoke. She is mobile but she would require assistance at home (Northside Edmonton). Duties include but are not limited to: prompting the daily routine, PM routine (bathing, dressing, toileting), medication administration, light housekeeping, supervision, and companionship. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities through attentive caregiving and support. Duties
Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision.
Support with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition
Help with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
Assist with mobility and transfer activities,
including heavy lifting when necessary
Experience
Qualifications and Other Requirements: The successful candidate must have a recent criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check, be a non-smoker, and speak fluent English. (Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred).
Previous experience as a Community Support Worker is not required but will be considered an asset
Knowledge of caregiving best practices, medication administration, and patient safety standards is advantageous
Ability to perform lifting when required and handle physically demanding tasks
Previous experience in care giving roles involving meal preparation, cleaning, or nursing duties is beneficial
A compassionate attitude combined with solid communication skills is essential for success in this role.
