Job Summary The primary role of a Housekeeping Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of the Housekeeping Department.
Essential Job Functions
Provide a clean, well-maintained Chalet by supervising the housekeeping operations
Identifies problem areas and formulates solutions
Conducts continual inspections to determine the Chalet’s overall level of cleanliness; performs follow up Maintenance of the chalet and guest cabins in accordance with GMR standard (washrooms cleaning,
removal of garbage/recycling/composting (represent at least 35% of the job), window cleaning, sweeping)
Ensure proper procedures are followed to ensure guest safety
Constantly monitor all working parts of the chalet and replace as necessary (changing light bulbs; use of a ladder) can take 2 to 3 hours a week.
Drives the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting staff
Manages through unusual events to keep Chalet operating standard (put dance floor together, install stage (heavy and sometimes have to be move through stairwells)
Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately to ensure effective operation in the Chalet.
Supervisory Responsibility
Schedules according to forecasted traffic or weather
Oversees all inventory, purchasing, disbursement and costs control of all kitchen rags, cleaning supplies, customer room, restroom supplies, laundry supplies, machines and equipment
Assures Housekeeping department operated within approved budget
Required Qualifications and Abilities
WHMIS Certification
At least 2 years of janitor experience
Knowledge on computer (outlook; excel; Microsoft)
Working Conditions
Working Indoors and Outbuildings
Deal with cleaning chemicals
Able to safely lift up to 40lbs
Work on your feet most of the time
Compensation and Benefits $22.66 to $26.50 per hour
