The opportunity

Known internally as Support Service Attendant , this is a Full‑time position in our Community Support Services team.

- Schedule: Days and every other weekend
- Starting wage: $19.81 per hour (inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.)
- Hours: 35 hours per week

Responsibilities

- Assist service users/clients in their own homes with non‑medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies:
- Personal care
- Lifts and transfers
- Rising/retiring
- Bowel and bladder procedures
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Range of motion exercises
- Other light housekeeping duties

- Perform duties in a professional manner, respecting the dignity and right to privacy, and maintaining consumer and staff health and safety.
- Provide support to seniors in their homes; shifts will require travel across multiple locations. Mileage kilometers are reimbursed.

Qualifications and Experience





- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset but not required
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties
- Physical demands self‑analysis required upon hire
- Ability to work adaptable and regularly scheduled hours
