Coordinate engaging events as an Events Programmer with the Simcoe County Museum. Manage logistics, marketing, and collaborate with volunteers to create captivating programs for visitors.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Education & Visitor Engagement, this 1-year contract role focuses on planning special events and promoting museum activities. The Events Programmer will coordinate logistics, engage with media, assist with educational programming, and travel for local community events. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate logistics for museum special events
• Create and distribute marketing materials
• Assist with educational programming and community outreach
• Represent the museum at local events and meetings
• Maintain inventory and manage purchasing tasks
Requirements:
• Two years related experience in event planning
• Diploma in Museum Studies or equivalent
• Knowledge of museum operations and community engagement
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Valid G class driver’s license and reliable vehicle access
