Position Overview
The Material Handler & Shipper/Receiver plays a key role in supporting manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, and supply chain operations. This position is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and safe receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished goods. The successful candidate will work closely with production, logistics, purchasing, and project teams to ensure materials are available when needed, inventory records remain accurate, and customer shipments are completed on time.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety. Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly valued.
Responsibilities
Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and system records
Inspect incoming goods for damage, discrepancies, or quality concerns and report issues as required
Process material receipts and inventory transactions in SAP
Store materials safely and accurately in designated warehouse locations, including racking and chemical storage areas
Pick, stage, and deliver materials, components, and consumables to production teams as required
Package, label, and prepare outbound shipments in accordance with customer and carrier requirements
Create shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, labels, and related shipping records
Coordinate outbound shipments with logistics providers and internal stakeholders
Safely operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, pallet stackers, telehandlers, and forklifts as authorized
Assist with cycle counts,
inventory audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies
Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP, Excel, and other approved systems
Replenish consumable inventory and communicate replenishment requirements to purchasing teams
Support troubleshooting and resolution of shipping, receiving, and inventory issues
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and work environment
Collaborate with production, purchasing, logistics, and project management teams to support operational requirements
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum two years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory control, or material handling experience
Experience operating pallet jacks, pallet stackers, telehandlers, and/or forklifts is considered an asset
Forklift certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification
Telehandler Operator/Telescopic Handler certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification
Experience using SAP is preferred; experience with other ERP systems will also be considered
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications
Ability to accurately complete shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse documentation
Strong attention to detail and ability to verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and system records
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to investigate inventory or shipment discrepancies
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Requirements
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with extensive standing, walking, lifting, and material movement activities
Comfortable working around production equipment, warehouse racking, chemicals, and powered mobile equipment
Valid Class 5 driver's licence
Access to reliable transportation for business purposes as required
Willingness to obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification
Reliability Status security clearance required
Controlled Goods Program eligibility may be required
Must wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel-toed footwear
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as required
Compensation
$35,000 to $55,000 annually
