This is an on-going position subject to annual layoffs and recall, as per Article 13 of the Collective Agreement. The employment period could be up to 6 months annually, approximately May through October.

Qualifications:

- Ability to maintain assigned public facilities and park areas in a clean, healthy and secure manner.
- Ability to undertake the regular and special maintenance of all equipment needed to do the work.
- Ability to maintain an accurate work record of the equipment and duties performed.




- Ability to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained at a standard of care to ensure the safety of the employees and public.
- Ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, the leadership team, and other colleagues.
- Ability to adhere to City of Melfort Safety Program
- Willing to participate in training opportunities that the City of Melfort deems necessary to improve knowledge and job performance.
- Ability to understand and complete oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Valid Class 5 drivers license with driving abstract
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and a vulnerable sector check.
- Experience in facility and parks maintenance would be an asset but not a requirement
