Join PLEA Community Services as a Temporary Full time Family Support Worker in Maple Ridge, BC. This role focuses on addressing neurodevelopmental concerns for participants through guidance and support.
As a Family Support Worker with PLEA, you will engage with clients to assess their neurodevelopmental needs, utilizing a variety of techniques such as active listening and problem-solving. You will work collaboratively with caregivers and service providers, helping individuals navigate complex challenges related to FASD and other issues. This temporary position spans from September 2026 to September 2027, offering a flexible schedule within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Gather vital information through interviews and observations
• Develop and implement intervention plans with clients
• Conduct group educational sessions on FASD topics
• Provide emotional support to participants and families
• Liaise with service providers and agencies for comprehensive care
Requirements:
• Two-year diploma in human/social services required
• One year of relevant experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid Class 5 and 7N B.C. Driver's License required
• Criminal Record Clearance for working with vulnerable populations
