Position yourself as a Cultural Advisor at the West Central Women’s Resource Centre, dedicated to uplifting Indigenous women and families through cultural support and healing practices.
This role at WCWRC focuses on facilitating access to Indigenous teachings and resources in Winnipeg’s West Central area. The Cultural Support Worker is responsible for delivering one-on-one cultural advising, coordinating ceremonial activities, and developing group programming that resonates with community desires. Contributing to healing and empowerment, this position requires a firm understanding of the impacts of colonialism.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver personalized cultural advice and crisis intervention
• Provide, support, and teach traditional healing practices
• Organize community education on Indigenous culture
• Facilitate workshops and collective ceremonies
• Support with evaluation and reporting of programs
Requirements:
• Robust knowledge of Indigenous cultural values
• Experienced in supporting diverse populations facing trauma
• Ability to work collaboratively within community frameworks
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office required
