Become an essential part of the team at Royal Alexandra Hospital as a Service Worker II. This role supports surgical procedures through patient transport, equipment management, and environmental hygiene to ensure patient care excellence.
As a Service Worker II within the Operative Services DTC, you will help maintain optimal efficiency and safety in surgical settings. Your primary responsibilities include transporting patients, restocking supplies, and cleaning instruments and specialty equipment. Collaborating with healthcare staff is crucial to guarantee a clean and safe environment after each procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transport patients safely to and from surgery
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and supplies
• Perform thorough cleaning of operating rooms
• Dispose of biohazardous materials properly
• Report safety concerns to unit management
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education
• Mandatory Alberta Heart & Stroke BLS Provider certification
• Minimum 1 year experience in an operating room setting
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Physically capable of handling patient transport tasks
