Support individuals at Alpha House as an Overnight Relief Worker, ensuring their safety and well-being. This role requires availability for overnight shifts and responding to client needs compassionately.
As a key front-line team member, you will provide essential shelter and detox services, dedicated to clients during their recovery journey. You will conduct admissions, monitor clients' conditions, de-escalate crises, and provide information about treatment options. Empathy and professionalism are critical as you navigate a quick-paced environment with vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete admissions and discharges for clients
• Monitor client safety and withdrawal symptoms
• Respond to crises with a focus on de-escalation
• Interact with clients compassionately and respectfully
• Provide information on treatment and connect to resources
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-year degree in social sciences (or in progress)
• Physical ability to assist clients and lift items
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Search
• Certifications in FOIP and Patient Lift training
• Experience with addictions or homelessness preferred
