About the Role As an Arborist Foreman, you'll lead and mentor your crew while performing advanced pruning and tree removal work. You'll help plan each job, lead safety on site, and ensure work is completed efficiently, professionally, and to Horizon's high standards.
ISA Arborist Certification is required, along with at least one of the following: TRAQ Certification
Utility Arborist Certification
What You'll Be Doing Lead, train, and support your crew on job sites
Perform advanced tree pruning and removal work
Safely operate and maintain aerial lifts, chippers, chainsaws, ropes, and rigging equipment
Plan work and communicate job plans clearly before starting each task
Lead daily safety talks and complete equipment inspections
Ensure safe work practices and emergency procedures are followed
Complete crew timecards and required safety documentation
Troubleshoot equipment and help keep the crew operating efficiently
Represent Horizon professionally and provide excellent customer service on every job
What You Bring Certifications & Education ISA Arborist Certification required
TRAQ or Utility Arborist Certification required
Certified Faller or Faller Endorsement




Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence; Air Brake endorsement is an asset
TCP, horticulture, arboriculture, or related education is an asset
Experience 1+ year of supervisory or crew leadership experience
Strong experience with tree pruning and removals
Comfortable climbing, both spurred and spur-less
Skilled in ropes, rigging, aerial lifts, and chipper operation
Experience working in outdoor, physical, and fast-paced environments
Skills Strong leadership and communication skills
Safety-focused mindset
Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting ability
Comfortable using iPads, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office
Team-oriented with strong customer service skills
Physical & Work Environment This is a 100% field-based role requiring physical work, including lifting 50+ lbs, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
You'll work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
$40–$50/hour , based on experience and qualifications
Vacation pay paid out on every cheque
