As a Truck Driver at Ryerson, you will be responsible for safely operate a 53' flat deck vehicle to deliver material to customers.
This position will work Monday through Friday from approximetely 6:30am to 5:00pm
Roles and Responsibilities Perform pre-trip, post-trip inspections and preventative maintenance checks
Reviews shipping documents and organizes daily schedule as per customer needs and geographical locations
Ensures that all paperwork such as tests reports & packing slips are in order for delivery to the customer
Straps down product and ensures the loaded truck can facilitate efficient and safe off loading or re-builds load prior to leaving the facility
Adheres to all safety policies including wearing Company provided PPE at all times when performing duties
Loads, safely straps and unload trucks using forklifts and or/cranes
Perform all other duties/trips as requested
All other duties as assigned
Requirements High school diploma or GED is preferred
Valid and unexpired Class 1 license with air brake endorsement required
3-5 years tractor/trailer experience in both manual and automatic transmission required
Ability to safely drive in all terrains and weather conditions
Clean Driver’s Abstract; current driver’s abstract must be submitted
Knowledge of truck loading capacities and trucking regulations
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to the position, in compliance with the provincial regulations and the company’s policies
