Project Overview
The Ontario Cannabis Store operates the sole legal online store for recreational cannabis in Ontario and is the provincial wholesaler. This initiative focuses on leading solution analysis and design for enterprise technology initiatives, translating business requirements into scalable system solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and technology standards.
Key Responsibilities
Translate business requirements into scalable solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards and roadmaps
Lead cross-functional workshops to define scope, clarify requirements, and resolve gaps
Document and optimize current and future‑state business processes, system flows, integrations, and data structures
Conduct impact assessments, identifying risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies across systems and data flows
Design, configure, and support enterprise platforms and integrations, prioritizing configuration over customization
Provide technical guidance to development and QA teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and approved designs
Maintain traceability across requirements, design, build, testing, and deployment activities
Ensure solutions meet standards for scalability, data quality, governance, security, and compliance
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, project teams, architects, vendors, and technical resources
Influence requirements and solution decisions by balancing business needs, system capabilities, and enterprise standards
Lead trade‑off discussions and provide expertise on solution feasibility, impacts, and implementation considerations
Act as a subject matter expert for enterprise platforms (e.g., D365, CRM, Power Platform), including platform capabilities, configuration, and integration approaches
Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex system and data issues while supporting production stability
Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process improvement, system optimization, and enhanced user experience
Evaluate, recommend, and incorporate AI/ML, automation, and intelligent workflow capabilities within supported systems
Leverage AI‑assisted tools to improve analysis, documentation quality, and solution delivery
Mentor and coach analysts and project team members on solution analysis, system design, and platform best practices
Provide senior technical expertise, project leadership and coordination of activities in development, implementation and maintenance of cost effective I⁢ solutions
Provide technical advice to clients and leverage OPS I⁢ solutions and applications to meet program/service goals and objectives ensuring efficiency
Evaluate recommendations and ensure all recommended solutions for improvement are congruent with the project goals and objectives
Identify short and long‑term project goals/objectives, and define and identify program and service delivery requirements in support of the development and/or acquisition of client applications
Lead the analysis, development and documentation of design and architecture of systems solutions
Lead the development of testing, integration and implementation of systems solutions into clients’ applications
Guide feasibility studies and cost effective analyses of proposed client I⁢ initiatives, ensure all studies and analyses are documented
Lead technical aspects of projects related to development and/or acquisition of client applications through all stages of SDLC including planning, scheduling, estimating resources, providing technical expertise, coordination, monitoring progress and providing project status updates
Demonstrate experience gathering requirements, translating business documents into technical specifications
Experience leading development/support teams supporting multi‑dimensional and relational databases and their applications for effective planning, budgeting, strategizing and forecasting procedures
Demonstrate experience designing and developing complex applications utilizing relational and multi‑dimensional databases
Provide implementation and post implementation support as required
Oversee research and evaluation of technical components in acquisition of software, hardware, technology, systems and products
Recommend and direct measurement and improvement of tools, techniques, standards and performance criteria to control quality of application development initiatives
Provide coaching and direction to junior analysts throughout the project related to development and/or acquisition of client applications through all stages of SDLC
Qualifications & Requirements
REQUIRED Must be able to work 5 days onsite per week in Toronto
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field,
or equivalent combination of education and experience; master’s degree is an asset
Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 and Power Platform certifications
5-8 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Functional Consultant, or similar IT role
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 F&O;, Customer Engagement (CRM), and Power Platform, including system configuration, support, and administration
Experience with D365 integrations, Data Management Framework (DMF), Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Pages
Experience delivering and supporting large‑scale, business‑critical enterprise applications
Strong understanding of enterprise applications, system architecture, integration concepts, and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server)
Knowledge of Supply Chain processes, including Product Information Management, Master Planning, Procure‑to‑Pay, and Order‑to‑Cash
Experience with testing, troubleshooting, implementation, and production support in complex technology environments
Ability to translate business requirements into solution designs, system configurations, and functional specifications
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, facilitate technical discussions, and align business and technical stakeholders on solution approaches
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, with proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Lucidchart (or equivalent)
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Experience identifying opportunities for automation, system optimization, and AI‑enabled enhancements
Ability to support production environments, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents independently
NICE TO HAVE Experience supporting or participating in D365 F&O; implementations
Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) operating models
Experience working with eCommerce or related integrated platforms
Solid collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams
