Posting #2627-325 Clarence Fulton Secondary School 1 Block in the area of Social Studies Teacher SEM 1: Block D (Social Studies 9) This is a temporary contract position. This position is effective September 8, 2026 and will continue until January 31, 2027,or the return of the incumbent whichever comes first.
While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.
The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $63,670 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.

Secondary School Teacher Possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate,



membership in the BC Teachers Regulation Branch and eligibility for a Teachers Qualification Card.
Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent with a major or minor in the subject area(s).
Demonstrated current knowledge of the subject area, including Big Ideas, curricular competencies, content and appropriate resources
Previous successful experience teaching the subject required
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
Have knowledge and/or experience in the areas of outcomes-based instruction, assessment for learning, differentiated instruction and inclusive education
Be proficient with technology and 21stcentury learning
Demonstrate current understanding of culturally responsive learning environment and assessment practices
