Reports to: Physician
Salary Range: $23.14 to $28.92 per hour
Hours: 12-15 hours per week
Shifts: Mondays/Thursday 8-4pm (approximately)
Status: Permanent Part-Time

Position Summary
TheAdministrativeAssistant I, Medical is responsible forprovidingadministrative support within the Stroke Prevention department at Krembil Brain Institute -Toronto Western Hospital.
This position with the secondary stroke prevention department at Toronto Western Hospital
Duties
Performing reception responsibilities
Providing clerical support
Organizing andmaintainingpatient charts, electronic and paper information filing systems
Performing patient administration functions including scheduling and coordinating appointments/meetings/events
Maintaining written and/or electronic calendar/schedules, etc
Coordinating unit administrative functions
Ensuring the efficient operation of the unit, within the scope of authority
Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, asrequired
Qualifications
Completion of Grade XII
Completion of a recognized post-secondary office administration program at the certificate level or equivalent preferred
Must have experience using EPIC EMR for patient records
Two (2) year related clerical experiencerequired
Previouson-the-job word processing and spreadsheet experiencerequired; experience working inanMicrosoft Office software environment
Experience with EPIC patient software.
Experience working in a health care environment
General knowledge of office practices,processesand procedures
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of Emergency Assistance Codes
Excellent organizational,
time management and prioritization skills
Very goodinterpersonal and customer service skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Goodproblem solvingskills
Ability to produce high quality workin accordance withHospital standards
Ability to work effectively and safely when dealing with stressful situations
