Job Description
What is the opportunity?
The Manager, Associates is a key leadership role within our financial planning business and is responsible for developing a team of sales support professionals (Associates).Through focused coaching and sales routines they will develop a high level of capability and engagement within their team that will contribute to the maximized sales and productivity of Financial Planners they support. The Manager, Associates form part of the market leadership team and partner with Managers Financial Planning, Financial Planners, Branch Managers and Regional Vice Presidents to insure an improved client experience, simplified way to do business and enhanced collaboration while driving the achievement of business goals.

What will you do?

Provide coaching and training to enable the Associates to champion problem resolution ensuring client satisfaction

Collaborate with partners to integrate the Associate role as the key support on the Financial Planning team

Coach the team to identify sales and referral opportunities, client facing transactions, enhance retention, drive revenue and book client appointments to support planners in closing business

Coach the team to fully leverage all service partners, promoting awareness and fostering relationships with internal partners

Ensure processes/controls are in place and are being followed to protect shareholder interests, including the areas of account openings, anti-money laundering, fraud prevention, authorities and maintenance

Act as a role model and ensure that the team delivers on all client experience commitments





Foster a continuous improvement approach to employee development by helping employees increase their skills, knowledge, and abilities and ensuring accreditations are up to date

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing and developing teams

Proven application of business acquisition, establishing community and client relationships, and success in business growth

Mutual funds license (IFIC or CSC)

Branch Compliance Officer (BCO) considered an asset

Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e. web based meetings,MyAdvisor, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications)

Nice-to-have

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a diverse team

Expert knowledge of coaching and be a change management leader

A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration or related experience considered an asset
