Lead World Artist Are you ready to steer the visual direction of a world built for total player agency and destruction? We are looking for a Lead World Artist to drive the artistic, technical, and organizational vision of our environment team for an unannounced 3rd-person action title. In this role, you will define the visual standards for reactive, highly interactive environments while orchestrating internal team efforts and external partner production. ABOUT THE ROLE: Yellow Brick Games is hiring a Lead World Artist to join our team of experienced developers working on an exciting new IP. In this role, you will lead the World department in creating benchmark-quality, fully interactive 3rd-person environments that seamlessly integrate real-time destruction and physical player impact. You will be responsible for defining art direction standards for world building, managing internal world artists, establishing scalable external development pipelines, and working hand-in-hand with external outsourcing studios to deliver top-tier assets on schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Artistic & Department Leadership: Drive the visual quality, spatial composition, and technical implementation for all environment, prop, and world-building assets across the project.
Outsourcing & External Collaboration: Act as the primary artistic point of contact for external partner studios, providing clear briefs, style guides, feedback, and quality control for outsourced assets.
Team Management & Growth: Lead, mentor and be the go to person for our team of internal workplace artists, conducting 1-on-1s, establishing career pathways, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
Pipeline & Destruction Integration: Collaborate with Tech Art and Level Design to establish and maintain modular workflows, destruction setups, and material pipelines that balance visual fidelity with reactivity.




Cross-Discipline Alignment: Partner with Production, Level Design, and VFX to maintain clear sightlines, readable combat spaces, and accurate milestone delivery schedules.
Performance Budgeting: Oversee visual optimization strategies to guarantee macro world-building hits performance targets without compromising visual storytelling.
Team Planning: Ensure the directorial vision is put into practice by helping to plan its implementation, keeping work within scope and pushing for maximum efficiency, and by working closely with the World & World Art directors.
REQUIREMENTS: Experience: 7+ years in game development with at least one shipped AAA or high-end AA title in a Lead or Principal Environment Artist role.
Outsourcing Expertise: Proven track record of setting up, managing, and reviewing high-volume OS pipelines with external vendor teams.
Destruction & Technical Mastery: Solid understanding of complex environment destruction, modular assembly, and modern engine pipelines (Unreal Engine preferred).
Leadership & Communication: Strong capability to articulate creative vision, deliver constructive artistic feedback, and manage cross-studio workflows effectively.
Composition & Gameplay Literacy: Expert eye for spatial composition, architectural logic, lighting, and 3rd-person action camera readability.
