Join Legal Aid BC as an Indigenous Community Legal Worker in Victoria, BC. This full time position advocates for Indigenous rights and legal support.

As an Advocate/Paralegal in the Parents Legal Centre (PLC), you will provide essential legal information and advocacy for Indigenous clients. Your work will involve addressing complex family and child protection issues while fostering strong community ties. Collaboration and communication with legal teams and community services will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and assess client intake materials for legal processes
• Build relationships with Indigenous communities for support and resources
• Conduct educational workshops on legal rights and options




• Assist clients with accessing Legal Aid BC services
• Facilitate client representation in legal matters

Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12, plus relevant post-secondary training
• Minimum 5 years in legal roles or related fields
• Proficiency in English communication
• Commitment to cultural competence in client interactions
• Indigenous applicants are strongly encouraged
