Contribute to Indigenous education as an Itinerant Ojibwe/Cree Language Support Instructor in Minnetonka School. Collaborate with teachers to enhance language and cultural programming effectively.
The Louis Riel School Division seeks an experienced Instructor for Ojibwe/Cree language support. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred post-secondary education and experience working with Indigenous communities. Support staff professional development and help implement the Multi-Year Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in Ojibwe/Cree language programming across schools
• Collaborate with Indigenous Education team and teachers
• Support career development for educational staff
• Foster traditional Indigenous teachings within programming
• Maintain strong communication with students and communities
Requirements:
• High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
• Respect In School training or similar certification
• Experience with Indigenous organizations or communities
• Intermediate to bilingual proficiency in Ojibwe or Cree
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
