Engage as an On-Site Instructor specializing in support for adults with visual impairments. Work in a rural setting directly with clients to foster independence.
Ideal candidates will bring a Registered Apprenticeship certificate, a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor (GDMI) certification, and 2 to 3 years of experience in similar roles. This physically demanding position requires effective communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to client-focused support in office, with relocation as a necessity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct adults on mobility techniques and safety protocols
• Assist individuals in outdoor environments
• Monitor client progress and adapt teaching methods
• Maintain safety through regular checks and equipment handling
• Foster open communication with clients and their families
Requirements:
• Registered Apprenticeship certification required
• 2-3 years of instructional experience needed
• GDMI certification must be current
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal transportation
• Clear criminal record check and immunization records required
