In this permanent position, you'll work with students of Indigenous ancestry, providing crucial support and acting as a liaison between families, schools, and communities. Your background in Indigenous studies will inform your strategies, ensuring they are culturally relevant and effective. Robust communication and problem-solving skills are key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Indigenous students’ educational experiences
• Consult with agencies for effective resource distribution
• Implement culturally relevant programs for student success
• Gather data to help track service outcomes
• Collaborate with community Elders for student support
Requirements:
• British Columbia Driver's License required
• Diploma/degree in counselling, child work, or Indigenous studies
• At least one year of relevant experience
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and educational needs
