OICR is seeking a Research Technician I for its Genomics team based in Toronto's MaRS Centre. This role supports innovative research under the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network, applying advanced molecular techniques to push the boundaries of cancer research. You'll work collaboratively while adhering to strict quality control protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR and qPCR
• Maintain adherence to quality control methods in the lab
• Assist in general Next Generation Sequencing laboratory tasks
• Document and communicate experimental results efficiently
• Contribute to the upkeep and optimization of laboratory SOPs
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology or related field
• Experience in a cancer research laboratory preferred
• Hands-on experience in genomics or genetics
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
