Support individuals in crisis with Naandwechige-Gamig Wikwemikong Health Centre as a Mental Wellness Support Worker. Provide immediate care, counselling, and resources across multiple First Nations communities.
This casual position reports to the Crisis Coordinator and requires three years of experience working with First Nations populations. Responsibilities include responding to crises, conducting assessments, and providing tailored support during trauma. You will also help clients with treatment plans and access essential services while maintaining detailed records and case notes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide mobile crisis outreach and immediate care
• Perform in office risk assessments and mental health exams
• De-escalate crises through solution-focused therapies
• Maintain relationships with community agencies and services
• Offer one-on-one and group counselling to clients
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a helping discipline
• Three years of experience with First Nations communities
• Knowledge of health and social service issues
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
