Salary Range: $23.89 To $25.82 Hourly

About the Role
The Housekeeper reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate and performs all aspects of cleaning duties in the community to maintain the established standards for sanitation, cleanliness, and safe work environment for all persons served.
Responsibilities
Include but not limitedto:
Be an engaged collaborative team player, developing andmaintaining professional relationships that support and strengthen theorganizational culture and purpose.
Carries out all aspects of routine and rotationcleaning throughout the building and suites which include: dusting, vacuumingand sweeping; cleaning appliances; washing floors, walls, windows and doors;changing and making beds,



removing curtains/window coverings for cleaning andre-hanging; garbage removal; terminal cleaning of suites.
Maintains a secure environment for residents, family andstaff, through: accident prevention, knowledge of emergency procedures and regulations, the safe use of supplies and equipment andreporting when repairs are necessary, keeps work area in an orderly, safe andclean condition, keeps inventory in order on individualcarts; replenishes supplies throughout the building, and utilizing infection control procedures
Reports significant changesor uncommon resident behaviour or concerns to nursing staff as required..
Attends and participates incommunity and education programs.
Performs other relatedduties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
1.Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education,training and experience.
2. WHMISCertificate.
3. FirstAid Certificate as applicable.
4. Freefrom communicable diseases and allergies or conditions which may be aggravatedby working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment.
5. Abilityto read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and writteninstructions.
6. Allsuccessful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Checkapplicable to Provincial guidelines.
7. Abilityto push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Must be able to workwith cleaners, detergents and other cleaning equipment.
