Make a difference as a Transfer Station Attendant with Parks Recreation and Environmental Services. This auxiliary position allows you to support recycling efforts while managing daily operations of the transfer depot.
In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision of the transfer station, assisting customers with recycling guidance and ensuring the safe management of waste materials. The job includes a variety of tasks such as traffic control, depot maintenance, and compliance with waste management regulations. Your flexible schedule will include wide-ranging shifts, accommodating both your needs and operational demands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and oversee the transfer depot operations
• Guide traffic and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Control access to the facility effectively
• Instruct customers on recycling methods and materials
• Classify and manage waste materials as per guidelines
Requirements:
• Completion of High School education
• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• WHMIS Certification required
• Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods
• Basic First Aid (OFA 1) certification
Support environmental stewardship and customer engagement through your role in solid waste operations.
