Become an Environmental Engineering Technologist in the City of Edmonton’s Waste Services team, focusing on environmental operations and monitoring. This role combines fieldwork with technical oversight in waste management.

You will assist with key environmental systems, including landfill gas management and groundwater diversion. A two-year diploma in Civil or Chemical Engineering is required, along with two years of industrial experience in waste operations. Your role involves regular outdoor activities and direct engagement with environmental sampling and monitoring techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate systems for landfill gas and leachate management
• Gather and analyze data from multiple waste sites




• Engage in routine troubleshooting of operational issues
• Input monitoring data into spreadsheets seamlessly
• Conduct maintenance on lab and sampling equipment

Requirements:
• Completion of an engineering technology diploma
• Two years working in waste management settings
• Understanding of environmental sampling procedures
• Effective communication skills required
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license needed
